BEC Terms and Conditions
The following constitute the terms and conditions to which applicants agree when booking any The Business Education Center face-to-face or eLearning courses (Terms and Conditions). The Business Education Center reserves the right to review and update these terms & conditions periodically.
- Registration (Creating an account)
When booking onto a face-to-face or eLearning training course we require you to register to create an account and provide us with certain information about yourself. In doing this, you agree to:
- Provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the registration form
- Maintain and promptly update the data we hold by logging into your account and updating via ‘My profile’.
- Access to course
After booking onto a face-to-face training or eLearning course you will be given access to The Business Education Center training hub. For eLearning, you will be given access to your personal dashboard where you will find the training videos and other learning materials. When you book face-to-face training courses, you will also be given your personal dashboard and the eLearning courses. By using The Business Education Center training hub, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you cannot use the site.
- Payment terms
Our standard payment terms is that payment is taken at booking unless otherwise stated. If payment by invoice has been previously agreed, the payment needs to be made 30 days from the date of invoice or prior to the course start date, whichever is sooner. Payment can be made via electronic funds transfer, credit card, bank draft or other pre-approved payment method.
- Credit terms
Our standard credit terms for account customers are 30 days from the date of invoice. Please email info@theprofitexperts.co.uk if you wish to set up a credit account with us.
- Course bookings
Bookings may be made by email, via The Business Education Center website or phone. Telephone bookings must be confirmed in writing upon request. Please quote purchase order numbers where applicable.
- Transfers
Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer to another The Business Education Center course, the following charges will apply, dependent on notice given:
- First transfer, made more than four weeks prior to the course start date – no charge
- Two to four weeks notice given – 25% of the course fee
- Less than two weeks notice given – 50% of the course fee.
All transfers must be taken within a period of six months from the original date. Requests for transfers to alternate courses can be arranged if The Business Education Center is advised in writing by sending an email to info@theprofitexperts.co.uk or by calling (+44) 020 8798 0579.
These requests must be made ten or more working days prior to the course commencement date and is subject to availability on a future course.
- Cancellations
Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer your booking to another date at the time of cancellation, the following charges will apply:
- More than four weeks prior to the course start date – no charge
- Two to four weeks prior to the course – 50% of the course fee
- Less than two weeks prior to the course – full fee.
NB Cancellation must be made in writing and received by The Business Education Center by the due date.
- Non-attendance
If you do not attend a course, and you have not previously informed us, the full course fee remains payable.
- Late arrivals/missed sessions
If you arrive late for a course or are absent from any session, we reserve the right to refuse to accept you for training if we feel you will gain insufficient knowledge or skill in the time remaining. In all such cases, the full course fee remains payable.
- Unforeseen circumstances
On occasion, unforeseen circumstances may require us to cancel a course. In such circumstances you will be given as much notice as possible and either a free transfer to another course date or a full refund of fees paid. But no compensation will be paid for any additional costs incurred (for example travel, accommodation etc). We therefore recommend that you refrain from incurring any costs of travel or accommodation until 28 days before the course, or otherwise obtain insurance for those costs.
- Course requirements
To be eligible to attend any The Business Education Center training, applicants must possess reasonable command of English and be affiliated with the profession related to the training they wish to attend.
- Certification
All attendees are provided certificate of attendance at the end of the training or upon completion of the requisite online modules.
- Distance selling regulations 2000
We abide by the applicable elements of the Distance selling regulations 2000.
- Guidelines for students and employers
It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that students are free from any condition which would affect their capability to undertake their chosen course, and that they have the aptitude to cope with an intensive course of study. We welcome students with disabilities but it remains their employer’s responsibility to ensure that they are appropriately supported in their workplace.
The Business Education Center would welcome in advance, for setup purposes, notification of any assistance that a student is likely to need during the running of the course.
If it is felt that the student doesn’t meet the learning outcomes of the course and or assessment process and is referred, they will be offered a free assessment. Any further training or coaching over and above that provided on the course may be charged for.
- Fair processing
All information that we hold concerning you will be held and processed by The Business Education Center strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998.
Such data will be used by the organisation to administer our relationship with you as a customer of The Business Education Center professional training course. We will not, without your consent, supply your name and addresses to any [other] third parties except where (1) such transfer is a necessary part of the activities that we undertake, or (2) we are required to do so by operation of law.
As an individual, you have a right under the Data Protection Act 1998 to obtain information from us, including a description of the data that we hold on you. Should you have any queries concerning this right, please contact our Data Protection Officer at info@theprofitexperts.co.uk.
- Changes
Whilst we make every effort to keep changes to the site to a minimum, we reserve the right to make amendments to the terms and conditions at any time to reflect changes affecting our business, including but not limited to, changes in technology, payment methods and legal and regulatory requirements. By continuing to use this site you agree to accept any changes made to the terms and conditions.
- Ownership and intellectual property rights
All The Business Education Center materials, whether on The Business Education Center website or at a The Business Education Center training day, are owned by The Business Education Center. All intellectual property rights in all materials available from The Business Education Center, including the design, graphics and text of all printed materials and the audio of all webinars and podcasts, are owned by The Business Education Center. When you are given access to The Business Education Center training hub, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use The Business Education Center materials. No The Business Education Center content may be copied, reproduced, uploaded, posted, displayed or linked to in any way, in whole or in part, without The Business Education Center prior permission. Any such use is strictly prohibited and will constitute an infringement of The Business Education Center intellectual property rights.
- Health and safety at the face-to-face training course
You must comply with all health and safety rules and regulations and any other reasonable security requirements that apply at the premises at which the training courses are provided.
- Behaviour
The Business Education Center reserves the right to remove any delegate from a training course whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate by The Business Education Center or its trainers. In these circumstances, The Business Education Center will neither refund any fees nor reimburse any other costs.
- Trainers
The Business Education Center shall provide such trainers to present the training course as it, in its sole discretion, deems fit and The Business Education Center shall be entitled at any time to substitute any trainer with any other person who, in The Business Education Center’s sole discretion, it deems suitably qualified to present the relevant course.
- Liability
The Business Education Center does not accept responsibility for anyone acting as a result of information in, or views expressed on, its training courses including course materials. Opinions expressed are those of individual trainers and not necessarily those of The Business Education Center. Participants should take professional advice when dealing with specific situations.
- Technology
The Business Education Center does not warrant that the provision of any content online will always be available or be uninterrupted, timely or error free, that defects will be corrected or that such content is secure or free from bugs, viruses, errors and omissions.
- Joining Instructions
Joining instructions including an outline of the day and venue details will be available prior to the course start date via The Business Education Center. The Business Education Center will not be held responsible for non-receipt of joining instructions and refunds will not be issued under such circumstances.
- Cancellation of an eLearning course
When you booked onto an eLearning course you have up to 12 months from the purchase date to cancel your booking and receive a full refund. After the 12 months you will not be entitled to any refund, but you will be able to transfer your eLearning to another person or onto another eLearning course.
- Changes to courses
Where circumstances dictate, The Business Education Center reserves the right to alter published courses, trainers, fees, dates or venues without prior notice. In extreme circumstances, The Business Education Center may be forced to cancel a course on 28 days’ notice.
